Invicta Men’s 4342 Watch Review

The Invicta Russian Diver is a very solid watch. Well built and hefty. Very legible dial, which should be expected at 52 mm. The Diver does not have a seconds hand, which does not seem to be a big deal for this watch. All printing on the dial is lumed and it shows up brightly.

Without a doubt, the Russian Diver is a big watch, but it wears smaller than one might imagine. It sits well with a relatively low profile and is comfortable on my 6¼-inch wrist. The rubber strap has a wide footprint. That said, I own several big watches and my wrist is accustomed to hauling around big iron. The canteen and my wrist are getting along fine so far.

Two caveats:

1) Strictly speaking, the Russian Diver is not a Swiss watch. The legend below the 6 o'clock on my watch says "Swiss Movt." Research reveals "Swiss Movt" means some movement parts are manufactured in Switzerland. Other movement parts and the casework may have been manufactured elsewhere, with the watch being assembled and cased elsewhere.

2) Unscrewing the canteen reveals a smaller than expected crown. A larger crown would be easier to manipulate and improve the Russian Diver. Don't let this criticism stop you from considering this watch.

Photos don't do the Russian Diver justice. It presents much better in person. Consider a Diver if you want a cool watch that makes a statement. For the low prices that Divers are selling for these days, the Invicta Russian Diver is a good value.

I first came across this watch at a jewelry store about six months ago and instantly found the watch I wanted to replace my current watch (which was no longer functioning). Hoping to do a little bargain hunting, I checked to see if this watch was available online and I found it here on Amazon.com for less than half the price any other jeweler was offering. It's a great watch and has a sport-yet-elegant appearance, which suits my taste just fine. The photos do not do this watch justice and, if you're in the market for a great watch at a great price but need something a little more elegant than your standard digital watch, I could not recommend a better watch.

Purchased to replace an atomic watch. The leather band wore out on the old watch and the shape of the watch didn't fit any replacement bands.
This new watch has a rugged metal band that should last quite awhile. The clasp is easy to unsnap with side pushbuttons. The styling is very nice too.
I'm using it to show the local west coast time with analog display and east coast time on the digital display when I travel to Maine. It's a great general purpose watch with all the features you'd expect with an analog/digital watch. The price makes this a super deal.

Great Watch
I upgraded to the eco-drive from a watch that Recharged by wrist motion. So far I'm a lot happier with the eco-drive. It holds a charge a lot longer, so it's not a problem to leave it unworn for a day or two. I did not like the green military style band on this one, but it was easy to swap for a 20mm leather band. The stock band was a tad small for my wrist. I would expect a lot of men would need to swap it. The numbers look big in the picture, and they're big on the watch. I like the big numbers, others might not.

May 2008 Update:
I still like this watch as much as the day it arrived! It works perfectly, never runs out of battery and looks good. For those of you who have not paid for a decent watch, you might not realize you're missing out on a good quality glass / crystal face. Mine is still scratch free. The watch looks pretty much brand new, even though I wear it every day.

Great Watch at a Low Price
This is my 2nd Eco-Drive Watch. Eco-Drive is by far my favorite watch brand. My other Eco-Drive is a moon-phase Caliber that I wear to work everyday. I wanted another watch that was less dress, and was happy when I found this watch at a low price. However, this watch looks very nice, despite its price. Some reviewers do not like the watch band. I agree that a leather band would make it look more expensive, but this is a military watch and the band is quite appropriate. Although the description calls this a canvas strap, the inside is coated so that it does not absorb sweat. So, I have small Wrists and Eco-Drives are the only watches that I can wear without modifying the strap. It's VERY easy to set. It is more like a traditional watch, you only need to adjust the main crown. The other two buttons north and south of the crown control the chronograph. Seconds tick by on this watch on the small dial located just above the "6" on the watch face. The large second hand that you normally associate with the sweep second hand is part of the chronograph. By the way, the chronograph is extremely easy to operate. One of my favorite features of this watch are the extremely large, easy-to-read numbers on the dial. Only downside is that the three small dials on the face are smaller and more difficult to read, but I think that is an unavoidable consequence of the design. Overall, this is a great watch!

Not a real chronograph
Minuses:It measures only seconds,and minutes; not tenths of seconds.The design is very simple, the dial is not sophisticated, just a classic, military design.The red indicator is too thin to be easily seen. The strap does not fit a 8" wrist. A Citizen, but an "almost" cheap looking and, maybe, a little overpriced watch.
Pluses:Eco-drive, and WR 100m.The watch's size is medium.Not heavy.

Watch was nice but I don't where same watch everday so it kept losing power and I returned after a week.

Owned it, returned it, nice watch though

I purchased this watch soon after it came out. Prior to owning this I had a Tag Heuer S/EL. While it is a lovely watch I had become spoiled by the smooth link bracelet of the S/EL and found this one a little uncomfortable by comparison. I also felt like switching from an S/EL to the replacement for the 2000 series was a bit of a step backwards.

So I returned the Aquaracer and purchased a Link Diamond. The bracelet was a lot more comfortable and it looks a little nicer for my taste.

If you are used to a conventional metal bracelet and a fairly large watch, you will probably love this watch. It just wasn't quite what I wanted.

The watch itself is a great watch, good quality and looks nice. The only issue with the watch is that the strap doesn't keep snug against the wrist (which is the purpose of the watch). After a few days wear it becomes loose and you have to adjust it to keep it snug. But overall, it's a nice watch.

Customer Review: rugged timepiece

Multi-functional, rugged, accurate and decent looking to boot. I found the strap to be a little on the short side for myself. I use the next to the last hole. While the watch case itself is large the acutal dial face is a tad on the small side. The minute hand is a tad too long and the hour hand is a tad too short. The illumination is only for the digital window which is usually set for month/day mode so telling time at night is difficult. Small little things that are not show stoppers, this watch comes from a proud heritage of G-shock development which places this timepiece in the winners circle. I expect to get many years of rugged service from this watch.

The Casio Men's G-Shock G-100 (analog-digital) was the perfect choice for me. It has a modern design, materials are quite resistant and it lets me have a dual time so that I know what time it is when I call my family on the other side of the world. Customer Review: very big, heavy, attractive watch

I thought this was one of the nicer analog-digital watches with a reasonable price. Be aware that it is a *very* big and heavy watch; bigger than many of those watches that have three or four dials. I have to keep the band fairly tight to stop it from slipping around when I move my hand.

The band is plastic, which strikes me as being a little down-scale for this watch. I plan to replace it with leather. If the watch holds up, I would say it's a nice buy.

Customer Review: Exceeded all of my expectations

I've used Ironman watches for years and they've been reliable and a good value. But this watch is by far the best Ironman I've ever had. I'm 62 years old and I need a watch I can see without reading glasses but with goggles on when I'm swimming laps. The readout on this watch is really big and easy to read. (The watch itself is also really big, so if you have dainty wrists it may not be for you.)

The user interface has been completely redesigned and is much improved. A quick scan of the instructions and you'll be able to use all of the functions intuitively.

The only downside to this watch is that the alarm is not as loud at the Timex Expedition analog I also own.

Bravo to Timex for significantly improving on an already great product.

This watch does what it says it will do. I was concerned because one of the reviews that I read said the labels for the keys rubbed off but I haven't found this to be true. So it does what it says it will do.

I have the previous model casio data bank 300 which is easier to use and has more features. This model is much better looking and the larger time numbers are easier to read but I miss some of the features of the old watch such as the ability for me to store and be reminded of the birthdays of all my family and friends as well as a better calculater. On balance I am wearing the new watch because it is easier to read the time and is better looking.

The watch was returned to Amazon September 26... and as of this writing.. even though I have a signed returned receipt on Sept 26.. Contacting Amazom Customer Service (after 4 conversions over several days) cannot locate or verify its ever been received at all..so I sit here wondering now for over two weeks where the $1,300 watch can be...I still don't know! Customer Review: The model as shown is one elegant watch !!

I was really not a fan of the Link series -- but one day tried it out in the store and bought it right there. A few points...
The watch comes as shown or as a chronograph. The watch comes with or without (as shown) a rotating bezel. Old version of this watch actually have (big) numbers at 6, 9, and 12. I think the combination of being not a chronograph, no numbers, and no rotating bezel makes this a very elegant watch.
The picture does not do this watch justice. The background color on the watch changes color (slightly) depending on how the lights hits it. It really looks nice.
The bracelet does not have any exposed pins on top or sides holding the link to the watch, or link to link. It is amazing how it is held together.

Other points to consider...

The watch comes as a quatz, automatic, or chronometer. I believe the chronometer is simply an automatic that has been certified. There may be other changes as I am not sure. My watch is an automatic.
The watch comes as either water resistent to 100 meters or 200 meters. Not likely anyone who actually dive to 100 meters, but interesting nontheless. My watch is to 200 meters.
There are other colors. I looked at all of this in the store, and chose black.

I have owned two Suunto Vector and two Casio Pathfinder watches. I bought this watch primarily for the added watch features and the slim profile. I was not disappointed at all and would say I prefer this watch over all the other compass watches I have owned. Clean, easy to read, accurate and useful, it is all that it claimed to be. Worth every penny so far. More as I use it in the woods. The two best features are the small size and the mineral glass face.

Customer Review: Great Watch Band Sucks

This is a great watch (replaced one I had for 12 years battery operated).

The band is crap and they made it so you can't replace it with a normal flex band (look at the pix attaching point).

Back to the watch... Very accurate altimiter ( I live at 4300' and It nails it when you set the bar.pressure correctly). Ditto on the compass.

Bottom line...You'll love the size and the solar performance..Buy It.

Customer Review: Great all-around watch

I bought 2 of these when local WM was clearing this model out. I have owned digital, analog and digi/ana. The reason I bought 2 was, besides liking the style, had 2 concerns about durability. One was the plastic band. I usually try to stick with metal bands because I have a habit of catching bands on things and breaking them (or the pins that hold them.) That's why I generally buy inexpensive watches for work so I can just buy another when the band breaks. The second concern was that the face is made of plastic and has no bands or raised ridges for protection. I figured that, even if the band held up, I would have the face pretty scratched up in no time.
I'm happy to report that after more than a year, the wristband and pins are very solid and flexible. Also the face, even though it does have a few small scratches, still looks so good that I don't feel uncomfortable wearing it "out on the town."
I used the telememo feature a couple of times in the beginning, but it's a little time-consuming so I wouldn't recommend buying the watch on the basis of that feature. I have used the world time feature on a couple of trips and it's pretty handy. The countdown timer is awesome for everything from cooking to remembering to turn off the sprinklers. I had that feature on a couple of G-Shocks I've owned and it's hard to realize the convenience of not having to check a stopwatch 1000 times while you're waiting on something to complete if you've never had one. I shower in it almost every day and have been swimming with it many times, and the face has never fogged up. The backlight surprised me at first, in that it lights up the analog part of the watch and not the digital readout, but I quickly got used to that.
Overall, it's a great watch. It's very accurate and durable, as I've sort of come to expect from Casio. I'm also happy with the fairly neutral styling that's welcomed in most any situation. If you're looking for bling, you must have missed the picture on the way to this review lol. I have a Movado for that, but don't use it as much as I used to since I got this Casio.
I almost forgot to mention that the 2nd AW80-7AV I bought is still in the original package, which boasts a 10-year battery life, so it should be ready to take over when I need it to.

I have the blue one and love. Been SCUBA diving with it, no problems. It is an automatic, so it's not going to be as accurate as a quartz, but if you buy it from an authorized dealer, they will adjust to make it accurate, usually within a couple seconds a day. You can save a few bucks buying a TAG online, but you're screwed if you don't like it or have problems.

Ordinarily I might get all technical about a purchase, but in this case (that's a watch pun, I guess), and for a watch of this type, it's really more about taste and aesthetics. Heck, if you want to time things to the nanosecond, get a Casio or whatever. Just my opinion.

I bought the watch for myself as a birthday present. I love the way it looks and how the band feels; the ensemble is so well designed that it's extremely comfortable despite the heft of the stainless case. I like the feature (which I didn't know about when I bought the watch) that allows one to turn off the moving mechanism, say, overnight; at a press of the crown, the hands zero out to save the battery. Another press in the morning, and the electronics send them back to the right spot. It's a little worrisome to read that the projected battery life is a couple of years (versus the five years or more that I've experienced with other watches), but I haven't had the watch long enough yet to worry about it. The other comment to make is that buying a watch on the Internet often means that one must do with the vendor's warranty rather than the manufacturer's. The discount makes that worthwhile, in my opinion, although of course the high-end sellers and manufacturers disagree.

If you work nights like I do...5
then you can really appreciate this watch's dial. The number and hands including the second hand are clearly seen in the dark. My only complaint and suggestion to Citizen would be at add a military dial 13-24. There is plenty of room on the dial for the numbers.
As with everybody else, I am not a big fan of the green wrist band. As soon as it wears out, I plan to replace it with a Black Speidel sports watch band similar to the type that I have on my other watches.

Totally excellent! I've tried several heart monitor watches before and took all but one of them back, either because the manual was gibberish or because they didn't pick up my heart rate. I had a pretty good Polar but the band was really too small and eventually broke from being stretched.
Picked up heart beat and GPS signal quickly. Heart immediately, GPS after a few minutes.
Comfortably long band, which none of the other watches I've tried had.
Manual is handy size and WRITTEN IN ENGLISH (sorry for shouting) not translated from Klingon by someone with only a one-week crash course in English. Easy to understand and follow. How often have you found a manual like that, ever?
Indiglo night light looks really cool but I can't read it. Don't think I'll ever use the watch at night anyway. The whole watch is attractive.
I can't tell you about some of the hard-core features like laps. I'm only going to use the watch for general fitness.
The GPS is fun to use but not make or break for me. It holds the signal well, even when going past tall trees.

I've been using this watch/sensor set up for the past 3 weeks and love it. It was easy to use right out of the box, and the more that I explore it's capabilities, the more I learn and enjoy using this system. Having the GPS to let me know how far I'm into my run is awesome, as I find it quite motivating to see the progress.
I've heard instances of people having trouble with the GPS around tall objects, but I have not had any instances of trouble with the GPS retaining a signal.
I would recommend this watch and sensor combination for sure.

I've been eyeing a TAG for quite a while and did my homework. This watch is simply beautiful. It is substantial but not clunky. The features are sharp and distinctive. It goes with absolutely everything. It's sporty enough to be casual but is classy enough to wear with a suit. One caveat: potential buyers should know that the watch comes with an amazon.com warranty, not the standard TAG Heuer warranty. The price makes up for it, but amazon should make it clear that is not an authorized reseller.

I've got to say that this is just one fine chunk of metal! I've been fortunate enough to own a few nice watches in my life and this one is the one that I've really wanted.

The band has a nice feel. It's a heavy watch but nothing too extreme like a bulky Paneri. The only odd thing about the band is that it periodically likes to yank out the occasional arm hair.

The motion is nothing short of excellent and there is a display back on the watch. After 3 months of daily wear, I have not scratched it yet... and I sure hope not to as this watch is beautiful.

This is a great watch for the money. It got some bad reviews because Amazon described it as a thermometer watch. It has no thermometer. It is a telememo watch. This model has the black face, there is one like it with a white face, and three different models with metal bands, white face, black face, and blue face. The blue face has been called more purple than blue in some reviews. Check out the reviews on all these models, then buy the one you like best. The control buttons work a lot like my Casio G Shock. Analog watch, digital watch, stop watch, countdown timer, world time, and three alarms. For my money, it's a good buy.

Thermometer????

I just received my order for this watch. Do NOT buy this watch if you are looking for the thermometer feature. It does NOT have it. It is a TELEMEMO watch. Don't even know why they name it that. The black dial is very lack luster and flat. I think the white or blue dial may "look" as if it may be worthy of a timepiece. As mentioned by other members, the LED lighting is very poor compared to the electro-lume/ Indiglo feature of Timex (or even other inexpensive watches. Where the whole face illuminates or glows uniformly). The digital screen is useless in the dark because it does NOT light up at all. The Telememo feature is mostly for novelty, because entering the information is cumbersome vs. today's cellulars and pda technology. The wrist band is on the flimsy side as I am more comfortable with the meatier band on the Ironman from Timex. This is a very lightweight watch. Feels as though you must "baby" it.
Overall, I am fairly disappointed in the watch but the price keeps me from putting out more money and time to return it. If the battery does last the estimated 10 years, then it may be a good work horse (as long as the band last somewhere along those lines).

Customer Review: Why get a Swiss Army or Rolex

I went to Macys to buy a Swiss Army watch. After looking over the Tags I decided to get two, one for me and the other for my wife. I got the Aquaracer 2000 depicted here. I even looked at the Rolex just to see and we still found the Tags to be better looking. My best friend owns both and recommended the Tag b/c its still working over his Rolex. I've had mine now for 1 year and never had a problem. I shower with it and bumped it several times into the wall and still no scratches on the the lens. Its a Swiss watch, just not as expensive as the Rolex b/c its not mechanical. No worries about tuning the watch.

Both watches ran me around 1800 total with Macy;s discounts. My wife and I both love our Tags and expect years of enjoyment from them. Great watches, proud and lucky to be a TAG owner.

I'm a woman, and bought this watch for the bigger display face to use on walks/jogs. I like it to wear for that reason, but am not so impressed with it for one small reason in everyday wear.... It fits, but it sometimes seems like the hole I usually wear it in is to small (if it somehow shifts), but if I out it on the next larger hole it moves around leaving clammy skin exposed due to the non-breathable but comfortable strap. I think it's worth the money, but I had forgotten about this feeling which is (I think) why I don't normally wear watches.

This watch was purchased to replace a Timex Ironman, which had a broken band and would have cost about the same to replace its band. This watch is very easy to use, easy to read, and seems pretty durable, even more durable for the $45 Ironman. The band is a little stiff at first, but then takes shape after a little time and becomes more comfortable. The glass isn't as vulnerable either as it may look. I got this to replace my earlier solar atomic watch which had a plastic band failure. I got the ti band and had it adjusted at a local jewelery store for $8. I am very happy with it. On a recent climb to (map stated) 5964feet the casio's altimeter said 5980, without any presetting etc. Obviously the temp is an issue on your wrist, and anyone out to explore will have bruntons, silvas galore strapped to them. But navigating subways in strange cities the compass will work well enough as will the world time function. Overall just what I wanted.

This has been a very good watch so far. I've only had it for two months. I like the style and at least appearance of ruggedness. I'm usually pretty hard on watches and don't like to spend a lot of money on a watch that I'll break. The price was very good too on Amazon, about $15 less than WalMart. My only complaint (and I knew it before I purchased it) was that the watch is fairly large and thick. I wish it was a little smaller for someone like myself who doesn't have a large wrist...but that's not the watches fault!!

Customer Review: An Atypical MOVADO May Be Just What You're Looking For

This watch is more impressive in person than in pictures.
The look is more timeless and classic than those watches with the traditional Movado look (the look is reminiscent of, although -- for obvious reasons -- not exactly identical to, certain Bulgari watches). However, the price and quality are still Movado, which means you get a rather fine quality watch for not too much money (particularly at Amazon's discounted price).
Amazon's service was, as has been my experience, consistently excellent. I received the watch rather quickly, and it came nicely packed with all the original boxes and paperwork. In my opinion, if you want a nice watch in this price range, you really can't go wrong.

It does not have INDIGLO like mechanism to light up the dial but it has a few lights across the rim. The problem with this is that the digital display area is not lighted enough essentially making the lights useless.
No seconds hand. And one cannot use the digital display to show seconds 'and' date simultaneously.
Adjusting analog time is quite uncomfortable. Since, the dial does not turn anti-clockwise; even if you are off by a few minutes while setting time, you have to go through 12h of adjusting.

I was pleasantly surprised with this watch. Not only does it have the basic time\ alarm functions, but it is also a tiny computer with an 8 bit processor that you can program yourself, if you'd like. The software that comes with the watch is more than enough for most people. I use this watch to remind me of appointment, and keep track of different time zones. I like the fact that I can do all my data entry from a PC, then have it downloaded to the watch. This is one watch that I plan to keep for a long time, and I'm going to buy few more as gift for family and friends.

This is a cool watch for the price. It has a lot of features that can be overwhelming at first. The minute and second hands do get in the way of the digital info sometimes making it annoying. The only big drawback is when you hit the light button it only stays on for 5 sec.

First this is a great watch, I did lots of research to try to find the best bung for the buck, and this is exactly what I wanted, I do a lot of outdoor hiking, kayaking and staff, so a shock and water resistent is necessary for me; besides the digital and analog design is very cool, IMO.
I way going to buy a Casio pathfinder but I don't have that much of $ now, this is a good choice though. The watch itself is not that big, it's perfect size, however for those who have a thin wrist it could be triky because the band is too long.
And Amazon, as always, delivers great service! The estimate shippment arrival date is Apr 10th, and I got it today at Apr 8th, surprise!!
I highly recommend this watch and Amazon.

Really like this watch

I am a helicopter pilot. I have wanted a dual time watch that I did not have to hit any buttons to see the second time and/or the date on a different screen. This watch is great because it actually can have 3 different zones if you want it to, there are 2 digital times you can set and then the analog dial. I have the analog set to local time, the 1st digital set to local 24 hour time and the 2nd digital time set to zulu time for all my flight and weather preparation. Since in a Helicopter your hands are always on controls, I'll set my watch to display zulu before I fly so I can listen to weather reports ( always given in zulu time ) and I don't have to do any math in my head and remember is it daylight saving time now or not, so am I 6 hours or 7 different from zulu time, and I can see what local time is all at a short glance down at my hand and not take my concentration away from flying the Heli. I searched long and hard for a pilot watch that had this combo to no avail and at much higher costs for less of what I wanted.

I am thrilled with this watch. Just wish the analog had numbers that would glow in the dark like the hands do.

Digital display is actually very easy to read, no problems there.
Also, I bought it because their color (cherry blossom red) matches 100% the color of a Subaru STi logo. Their design is also rather unique and to may appeal to car enthusiasts (take a closer look at them, you'll see what I'm talking about).

I was hoping for the black rubber band, but I got an all metal band. The manual was about 1700 pages long and setting this puppy up was not exactly intuitive. I threw in the towel and returned it. At least it wasn't that expensive.

Nice watch but poor bezel design

I love this watch but it has one major flaw. The bezel is not protected by the case at all. It actually is a dome shape instead of being set into the case like most sport type watches. I got 2 big scratches in it within 2 weeks. As above....the temp does not read correctly unless you take the watch off but I expected that.

I am completely satisfied with this watch. I like the fact that you can view the time digital or by clock. The indiglo option is great in dark places it is very bright. Basic Casio Watch--A Ok

I'll keep this short and sweet. This was my first digital watch nearly twenty years ago. I've had many since, and yes, I searched for this one and bought it. Why? Well, it's like me concise and to the point. Gives you what you want and need without the frills. Loved it then and love it now.

Great Watch

This watch is slim and fits very comfortably. It's a nice throwback to a classic 80s style. The button mapping is very simple to learn, and I picked up on how to use the watch in just a minute or so. Many people comment on how much they love the watch and remember the good days of watches like it.
My only complaint is in regards to setting the alarm. I often do this once in bed and the lights are out. However, the light button is the one that lets you change fields, thus making it impossible to set in the dark. Just turn on a lamp and everything is fine. Not really a big deal.
Alarm is nice and loud. Display is simple to read indoors and outdoors. For the price it'd be hard to find a better watch.

The tide and sun functions are more of a novelty than useable functions.
If you are over 40, keep your magnifying glass handy. The function indicators are pretty much unseeable.

Analog & digital times do not sync. If not adjusted on a regular basis will wind up(no pun intended) being way off.
I've returned my unit to Timex hoping that it was just fluke but the replacement unit they sent me acts just the same.
Oh well, I guess I can't expect too much from a $60 watch.

Customer Review: Excellent watch with great features and user-friendly operation!

I have owned this watch for several years now and could not be happier with it. It is no longer my everyday go-to-work watch, but I do wear it fairly often for running, hiking, biking and other outdoor activities. I replaced the original stiff plastic band with a "Timex Expedition" Velcro fastwrap band for greater comfort and easier tightening/loosening ability. With the Velcro band cinched up, the watch fits snugly and comfortably and I barely know it's there while running, etc. Setting the time and alarms is extremely easy and user-friendly, given the large, clearly labeled and easy to push buttons, and the helpful on-screen directions such as "next" and "done" that appear over each applicable button. Unlike some other reviewers, I have no problem with the relatively subtle Indiglo light. Using the backlight, it has never been difficult for me to make out the time in dark or dusky situations, and since I don't rely on the watch to illuminate dark hallways, etc., I think the light is more than adequate.

Customer Review: Eww, Plastic

As a watch lover, I was excited to receive my watch. Upon opening the box, I found the plastic watch band broken. Now, I am rather cheap, so understandably I did not expect to open up and receive an indestructible nuclear time-piece, but I had hopes for one of slightly higher quality. Buyer beware- it's a great watch and a steal... only at a much lower price.
On a much lighter note, Amazon was very diligent and efficient at taking back the defective watch and returning a full refund. Kudos to you oh great internet shopping center.

Customer Review: A very good item for its price point

Okay, so I've had this watch for a little over a week now and the following points come to mind.

This, as I mention above, is a very good watch for the price I paid. The good points have been mentioned by various other reviewers and I don't want to mention them once again. However, there are a few minor details that made me hold back one star in its rating.

1. The color of the digital display is not blue but gold. Although this is not a deal breaker, I did choose this watch because the blue letters seemed a bit different from regular watches and so I was a bit disappointed when the real item did not match the picture.

2. The straps are attached to the body of the watch in a fixed curved position which prevents me from placing it on a table in a flat position, thus occupying a bulky space.

3. [This point has been edited] The watch is a little too thick for my taste. This keeps the sleeve of my dress shirt from sliding over it freely and thus forms a somewhat bulky shape on the wrist - you might think about this, especially if your wrists are medium or slim sized.

Very cool and useful
Great watch with many useful features. I bought this as a backup tool for aviation. It has proved to be fairly useful. I give it only 4 stars because of the functionality of the measurements.

I calibrated my watch at the airport with actual observed conditions. Once calibrated it will provide fairly accurate measurements, I use fairly loosely. The barometer only measures in increments of .05 inches. Yesterday the barometer was as 30.07 observed and my watch read 30.10. I suppose 30.05 would have been closer but I was thankful that the watch read that close. The temperature measurements have been dead on. I have an outdoor digital thermometer at my house and they generally read the same to .2 degrees F.

The altimeter and compass do not continually measure. They have to be refreshed. I believe that the compass reads for 20 sec and the altimeter might be the same. The altimeter has shown to be the most inaccurate of the measurements. It tends to fluctuate a lot.

My biggest complaint though is the backlight. It only stays on for about 2 seconds once the button is pushed. It isnt nearly enough time to take in all the information that this watch provides. I havent found a way yet to change the duration.

I could certainly have gotten away with the 1300 series but my wife thought the 1500 looked better so who was I to argue. The moon feature of the 1500 is pretty cool. I do enjoy knowing what phase the moon is in and how high the tides are.

Overall I really enjoy this watch. I wish that it was a little more accurate but I guess that is why aviation instruments are thousands of dollars and this watch is hundreds. BTW, I really like Amazon and buy most everything from here...except this watch. I bought it at my local Casio dealer for about $30 less than advertised here. The casio pathfinder website has a dealer locater function. If you are thinking about this watch...get it.

Edit:
Seems as if the price is dropping on Amazon. It is currently under $225. I doubt that you will find it cheaper. Maybe, but prob not. Amazon came through again for me. They most always have the best prices.

Nothing Better
Everything about this watch is awesome. I have never had a better watch... ever. Only complaint is that the loose perpendicular strip of leather that holds the band in place does not do its job very well. It slides up off the band and the band ends up hanging down. I haven't found a way to fix it yet, but I'm working on it. However, that is a small complaint compared to the awesomeness of this relatively inexpensive timepiece... Just look at it!!

A nice robust watch to wear every day.
This watch is rated 100m water resistant. Although the manual does not recommend scuba diving unless the watch is rated 200 or 300m, I have been scuba diving with this watch multiple times with no problems.
The luminescence is strong and very readable at night.

Great Watch - But the band is disposable
I'm on my second one of these (the first was still working fine - but the face was quite scratched after 8 years). Great watch - but the band will crack after 8-9 months - and no discount stores carry the right bands - I have to go to a watch repair store and pay $15 for a new band each time.

Beautiful and Substantial Sports Chronograph Watch
The Invicta sports chronograph is a simply beautiful watch to reveal from the packaging. I already own two Invicta dive watches, and was impressed with those, but am even more impressed with this watch. I have to say I was very pleased with the product, particularly for the price. (I got it for less than currently listed on the Daily Deal)

I currently have a well known Japanese made quartz sport chronograph that is stainless steel tinged with a gold finish and is very handsome, but I needed another watch that did not contain the gold trim, as I wear a significant amount of white gold jewelry. I needed a watch with these functions that would not cost a lot of money, kept good time and was entirely stainless steel or, as this watch is, stainless steel with black accents. In addition, I was looking for a watch that I could wear when going out, as well as on an everyday basis. This watch will fit the bill nicely.

The hands are well proportioned and the watch is easy to read. The face is somewhat difficult to read for those without 20/20 vision, but I also have that problem with all chronographs. The bezel does not move in both directions, as the ad states, although for the price I can live with it. The bezel does, however move quite smoothly. The weight of the watch is hefty, without being too heavy and it feels substantial. It is larger than the dive watch I bought from Amazon, and would look funny on a smaller wrist. Finally, the clasp is unusual and very well made. It would be very tough accidentally open the snap and lose the watch, which has happened to me before on cheaper watches.

I would say the watch is well worth the money. It is well built and striking to look at.

On the positive side, looks lovely, and can be either a functional, practical watch, or a dress watch. The watch has the features that I want, and no extras. Finally, the basic settings are very easy to use. On the negative side, this is a very THICK watch. I do not mind a thick watch, but at 13 millimetres this is very thick. A second negative point is that I cannot seem to make the band the correct length. It is either too tight, or, too loose. Overall, good but not as nice as my Seiko or Junkers.

Simple Elegance
I received my Movado today and I'm pleased in many ways. This watch is plain in that it is only a two hand watch with a blank dial. But it is exquisite in that it is one of the most recognized dress watches in the world. The Military model attracted me due to the larger than normal Movado at 39mm instead of the usual 35-37mm which is a little small for me. Another thing that attracted me was the bracelet, it isn't integrated like many Movado's. Instead you get nice solid end links, and you can change to a strap or another bracelet. The watch is thin, with good detailing as well as fit and finish. The combination of brushed and polished accents look very nice, and add to the subtleness vs. an all polished watch. Overall, if you want something a little bigger than the ususal Movado and a watch that is instantly recognizable while understated. This is for you...

Great watch, but a little pricey
I received this Technomarine Squale approximately 1 month ago and absolutely love it. I've received numerous compliments on it and it definitely makes a fashion statement. This is a nice, somewhat heavy watch, but it feels like it was made for my wrist.

For a sports watch, it is a little expensive. However, the quality, style, and uniqueness makes up for it. If you decide on buying, I say go for it.

Amazing deal on an already superb product!
Bought this on Amazon for $285 off the almost $500 msrp. Meaning this is a very high quality watch that uses expected Japanese craftsmanship to elevate it to the level of a Tag Heur for 3x more. I was looking for a watch that had the feel of a Swiss Army but the looks of a stealth bomber. This is what I found. I was expecting multi-function to mean chronograph and maybe calendar; I actually got a pilot's watch with global time, 3 alarms, and a timer in addition to the aforementioned. The watch is slightly on the heavy side but built like a tank. The nicest feature imo is the solar-powered capability. For a college student, this watch breaks the crowd of Fossils and other inferior brands and withstands day-to-day use like none other. The LCD display has improved but not enough like say an Armitron. Other than that, no complaints.

Great Looking Watch
Just got my watch two days ago. I went with this chronograph after considering the diamond-accented model. Having tried on the latter at a department store, I found that it was not my style.

I think this watch looks great, and I'm getting more compliments than I can count. The price was right, too.

My only complaint, if I could even call it such, is that the white and silver face doesn't make it the easiest watch to read. Certainly not a something that keeps me from rating this watch 5-stars!

Nice watch
I'll agree that the main product picture on this Amazon detail page is *slightly* misleading. Like a previous reviewer, I was also surprised at the watch's bulk when I first took it out of the box.

Nonetheless, it's nothing like those massive watches you see some people wearing. I'm a short guy with fairly thin wrists, and it only looks a tiny bit too big for me.

In any case, I got used to the bulk after a few days, and I really do like the watch. It's flashy and functional and keeps great time.

My only complaint is that the glow-in-the-dark arms are quirky. Sometimes they'll absorb light after 5 minutes of exposure to a cloudy day, and sometimes I'll keep them under a light fixture for an hour and they won't glow at all. Definitely not a feature to count on.

Great Watch
I recently purchased this watch with the black dial and that silver chrono. Mine did come with the TAG Heuer manual and service card. Infact to get my watch adjusted (the band) I took it to a local jeweler and they fixed it for me without question.
This is my second TAG that I own and I would not trade it for anything. In fact I sold my Baume & Mercier Professional automatic dive watch for this one.

What you need to know when buying this watch:

It is exactly as advertised - a beautiful timepiece. Only negative: the brushed stainless steel on the band does scratch easily.

When I ordered the watch I chose the super saver option for shipping. FYI, Amazon will send it overnight anyway and still not charge for shipping. I'm guessing if I had asked for overnight it would have cost me, but by selecting super saver I still got overnight for free. They want to be able to track such an expensive item I'm guessing.

Final thought: you are purchasing an authentic TAG Heuer watch. However, you won't get the documentation/warranty from TAG Heuer like you would with buying it from a dealer. I needed to get my band adjusted and when I called a TAG dealer I got a lot of attitude and was told "even though it is an authentic TAG, we will not touch that watch or any TAG sold over the internet from an unauthorized dealer." (Apparently, TAG has not given their blessing to any internet sales. Probably to protect their dealers). However, there are plenty of jewelers that will take care of you, should you need it and Amazon does provide a warranty through a third party.

Fantastic timepiece
Just purchased this watch a week ago.

Fabulous timepiece that works flawlessly. Looks fantastic and looks like it is worth a lot more than I paid for it. Easy to read dial in the water and nice durable and good weight to it. The band is nice and solid as well. I did have the jeweler adjust the band for me.

Agree with some other comments about the instructions on setting the days/date, but it's only once every month or so.

Great watch and highly recommend to anyone. Why spend more for a great watch.

I am happy but not wowed!
There are no major problems with the watch and it looks nice but it is not close to the glowing descriptions given by others. Setting the date, is not difficult, but coordinating the date with the correct day of the week is something I have yet to accomplish though I have had the watch several weeks. It is not like this is something I work on daily but I read the instructions when I first got the watch and don't remember anything clear about this. Additionally, I do not need to know the Spanish days, which are included.

Would I recommend the watch, yes. Brag about it, no. Does it look like a more expensive watch, maybe. Does it perform like one, no.

I purchased the 2255.80 directly from Amazon, not through a 3rd party. The watch is widely reviewed all over the net and is a masterpiece, so I'll comment only on the specific characteristic of purchasing directly from Amazon, something I debated at length (again, not through a third party, I bought directly from Amazon):

In a nutshell, the watch comes exactly as it would from an authorized dealer (AD) but does not come with the warranty card you'd get from an AD which allows the watch to be serviced by Omega should anything go wrong. Instead, you'd ship back to
Amazon. I figured the probability of something going wrong with the watch within the first two years was incredibly low anyway, so it made sense to purchase from Amazon, where the savings was an order of magnitude greater than most ADs. The piece itself was flawless with all correct serial numbers and red dot intact on the caseback.

In the future I would again purchase a fine time piece from Amazon because the savings is incredible and the watch itself comes exactly as it would from any other AD source, just with different warranty characteristics you're unlikely to have to use anyway.

Great value, beautiful watch, read fine print
I'm a 51 year old man and bought this for myself. It's beautiful and as a previous reviewer said it can be worn dressed up or with jeans. The face is not pretentiously large as many watches tend to be these days. I searched everywhere online and in stores and Amazon had by far the lowest price. Remember you will probably need to have it resized. I am 5'10" with average size wrists and I noticed when I got it resized at a jewelry shop ($15) they only took out two small links. So if you have very large wrists this band may be too small to begin with. Also Amazon is NOT an authorized Movado seller so you will get the 2 year Amazon guarantee which does not cover the band or crystal, just the inner workings against manufacturer defects. A nice watch for the price and so far I'm very satisified. Can't beat the price.

Beautiful, but Heavy
This is a beautiful watch, and accurate, however, I would suggest trying on one of these watches, before buying off of the Internet. The watch never sits on the wrist correctly. It always hangs over the left side of my left wrist, uncomfortably. I wore the watch for about three months, then traded it in on a Breitling Colt, which is also beautiful, and sits on my wrist comfortably, although, the Colt is not what you would call a precision instrument, which Breitling would have you believe.
